how do you visual critical literacy now?

I have learned many things in this subject. It has been nearly three months and all of the information that I was taught by my lecturer which is Madam Nor Rubayah and Madam Zariati,  I had digested it and have applied it to all of the work and tasks that I was given. Before learning this subject, I was nervous but very excited at the same time as I am  eager to learn

.

However, I do believe this subject would be based more on reading books like old English Classic, poems or just any fiction books as opposed to always be doing based on the current issues. i also believe that after watching an English movie and analyze the movie, it will  open my mind to think critically.

So it has honestly been a good challenge and a good experience learning this subject and hopefully maybe in the future I am able to apply all the things that I have digested and used them for my future learning.

proposition : hollywood produces great movies , but they don't always tell the truth even it is based on "true stories".provide two premises or counter arguments for the proposition.

As we know that , Hollywood always produce great movies , but they don't always tell the truth even it based on " true stories ". all the produces are try to not tell the truth even it is based on "true stories: because of some reason. films serve a number of purposes in our society. Mostly , they tell stories, entertain audiences, and help us imagine the world in new and creative ways.

one of the Hollywood movies based on the truth stories but did not tell true is the pursuit of happiness that was release on 2006 directed by Gabriele Muccino. in the Hollywood story Chris Gardner is a hard working man with a pain-in-the-ass wife and an adorable liltle son of the greatest Afros we have ever seen on a child. all gardner wants to do is make enough of a living to provide for his son.

In reality Gardner did get a chance to show his stuff in the Dean witter training program.. but , as the more honest book version points out , he apparently was not quite same in the film. First, he was so focused on getting a job and earning his first million that, well, he actually did not even know where the son was for the first four months of the program.

I agree with this statement that some of the Hollywood movies did not always tell the truth because most of the movies is to designed audience expectation. For example the titanic movie it only focus about the love story itself rather than the sinking ship. other than that, we can see that the Hollywood movies like the pursuit of happyness the director tell that Chriss Garden is a hardworking man and can solving the rubric cube in the movie but in reality Garden actually cannot solve any kind of rubric game and he also actually did not even know where his son.

in conclusion , i believe that some of the director will put some fake story to make it become more interesting and  entertaining. i also believe that the director do that because they want the audience believe the story and gain more profit.this is because not all the true stories can grab all the audience attention.

If money were the only criterion by which a child's welfare can be gauged, then a baby bought for as much as rm 40,000 on the black market would seem set for life. for money rich but child-poor couples, it as a small price to pay to introduce a small life into their home. the cot is gilded, the blanket monogrammed, the college fund filled to the brim. all that's wanting is a bun in the oven. and where there is a baby-for-sale racket, money can indeed buy happiness. and after all, why not? " ( NST, MARCH 3, 2013)

My view about the statement is it make sense for child welfare but it have pros and cons. people should take this as an easy way to have a child. for a married couple or for women who can't pregnant they need to find another way to get the child. for example , they can get it by adopt. this is the proper way to get child instead of buy it from the black market.

adoption benefits everyone. many of the benefits are helpful to the family. other benefits come to the child who is being placed for adoption. adoption actually can bring a positive ending to a problem situation and can benefit everyone involved. let's look what is the benefits of adoption instead of buy child from a black market. first benefit is we can rescue the child. when a good family adopts a child, he receives the love and support necessary to have a good childhood and they also can get to experience the peace of a functional family life with their adoptive families.

other than that , by get child from adoption it can reduce the number of abandoned  baby, one of the reason why  abandoned baby happen because some family can't take care of their child because of financial problem. so by getting child or baby by adopt , the number of abandoned can be reduce.
i disagree for those married couple get a child from black market. this is because by using black market actually can increase the number of crime. i believe that if the number of demand increase it can lead to the crime like kidnap. this is the way to get the child easily and sale it in the black market and gain more profit. other than that, by using black market to get a child we don not know what is the purpose of the family buy the child. maybe some of them buy it to do a certain job or use them to sell drug or anything

stereotyping is exaggerated generalizations associated with a categorizing system, they go beyond the facts at hand and make claims that usually have no valid basis. it is also something that most people fond difficult to avoid from doing. what do you think?

Psychologists once believed that only bigoted people used stereotypes. Now the study of unconscious bias is revealing the unsettling truth: We all use stereotypes, all the time, without knowing it. They have met the enemy of equality, and the enemy is us.

stereotyping is when you judge a group of people who are different from you based on your own and/or other opinions and/ encounters

Each of us has a biased world view because we are all limited to a single camera perspective. That is we can only see what comes before us, we can only hear what is around us, and we can only read that which is in front of us. No one has the definitive version of reality,Our world view impacts how we view, respond, and react to every experience. the lesson is to learn what stereotypes and biases are, how to recognize our own biases, and how move beyond them to a more balanced ability to evaluate and understand people.

I would like to say that we all use stereotypes without knowing them. for example , we always say that women cannot play the heavy sports like football , hockey and cycling. this is because we tend to think that all of this sports is for men. we cannot avoid from doing it.  because i think we have set our mind set to think that way.

You Heard Comments and maybe grievances from your senior about Critical Literacy , but what is/are your expectation (s) or hope for this subject as you are just started

To start it off, I'd like to write about the things rumoured from the previous batch which is my seniors about Critical Literacy. I can honestly say that I was certifiable scared but conspire at the same time when the majority of them claim that this subject would be a killer, and that you need to give your absolute 100% in order to properly understand what needs to be done and how to get it done. They also mentioned that this subject will make you go mad .

Now, I would  like to state that I agree with what my senior say about this subject.  It is a very time arresting subject. You need to start working do your work a few weeks earlier. Take this for example, I had just finished my first assignment which was given early march and I did not start on it till one weeks before it was due.  I regret not starting on it earlier. However, I thank God it was one weeks instead of three days so I had time to read my articles properly and analyze it, look for what is a necessary to put in my work and eliminate parts that are not. So basically what I'm trying to say is that I should have never procrastinated on my work because this subject really needs all the time that we were given in order to get the work done .

My expectations or hope for this subject is I  can pass this subject or get an A.  I hoped to have fun learning and understanding the different techniques that I was going to be taught and I expected it to be challenging. Well it did, it reached my expectations and beyond. So far up till today, I am still enjoying studying this subject and learning new things. other than that, i also hope that i can master the rules of ten that have been tought by Madam Nor Rubayah
